The deaths head moth, sometimes seen as a bad omen, is linked in name to one of the Greek Fates who wove humanity's destiny. Atropos, the eldest of the three Moirai, was the cutter of the thread of life—the one who determined the moment of death itself. Her name means "unturnable," reflecting the inevitability of fate. To bear her name is to acknowledge the cycle of existence, the beauty in transience, and the power of transformation.

The deaths head moth carries similar symbolism across cultures. In European folklore, its distinctive skull-like marking on its thorax has long been associated with mortality and the supernatural. Yet it is also a creature of remarkable resilience, capable of surviving in harsh conditions and migrating vast distances. Some traditions view it not merely as an omen of death, but as a messenger between worlds, a guide through transformation.

Wearing this design connects you to ancient wisdom, to the acceptance of life's natural rhythms, and to the quiet strength found in embracing what cannot be changed.

Created from recycled sterling silver and deeply etched, this is a perfect bracelet to stack alone or with other.

The bracelet measures 7.5"/20cm in total, the central Moth design is 1"/2.5cm across.
